Gibrano: A Bold Display Font for Creative Branding

I was tasked with creating a visual identity for a new boutique coffee shop called "Morning Brew." The owner wanted something warm, inviting, and a bit edgy—something that would stand out on signage, packaging, and social media. As I opened my design board, the first thing I did was test a few display fonts. Gibrano caught my eye immediately.

Gibrano for Coffee Shop Logos and Branding Materials

Gibrano is a textured all-caps display font with bold and expressive characteristics. Thick, solid, and easy to read, it felt like the perfect match for this project. I placed it on a logo draft and watched how it transformed the look of the brand from generic to memorable. Its texture added depth, while its weight gave it a sense of authority and reliability.

When I used Gibrano as the main typeface for the logo, it instantly conveyed a sense of strength and character. It worked well against both light and dark backgrounds, which was great for considering different applications—like storefront signs or website headers.

Gibrano on Packaging and Product Labels

Next, I moved on to product packaging. The coffee shop sells single-origin beans in small tins, so I needed a font that would look good on small labels. Gibrano’s thick strokes made it legible even at smaller sizes, and the texture gave each label a handcrafted feel. I paired it with a clean sans-serif font for the supporting text, which helped keep the design balanced and professional.

The result was a cohesive look across all materials. Whether it was a label on a tin or a poster for an upcoming event, Gibrano maintained consistency in tone and style. It wasn’t just a font—it became part of the brand’s personality.

Gibrano for Social Media Graphics and Website Headers

As I designed social media assets, I realized how versatile Gibrano could be. It didn’t feel too heavy for digital use, and its boldness stood out on Instagram posts and Facebook banners. I used it for headlines in promotional graphics and found that it grabbed attention without being overwhelming.

On the website header, Gibrano served as the primary font for the navigation bar and hero section. Its readability was key here, as visitors needed to quickly scan through content. Even with a textured finish, it remained crisp and clear, which was essential for maintaining professionalism.

Gibrano in Print and Digital Marketing Materials

For printed marketing materials like flyers and posters, I tested Gibrano on different paper stocks. The texture of the font translated well into print, especially when using matte finishes. It had a tactile quality that made the designs feel more premium and intentional.

In digital formats, I noticed that Gibrano performed well in web design templates. When paired with a modern sans-serif font, it created a dynamic contrast that elevated the overall look of the site. I also used it sparingly in call-to-action buttons, where its boldness helped draw the eye without overpowering the rest of the layout.

Gibrano for Event Posters and Local Promotions

The coffee shop was launching a seasonal event, and I needed a font that would stand out on a poster. Gibrano fit perfectly. Its expressive nature allowed me to create a design that felt both artistic and approachable. I layered it with some subtle illustrations and kept the supporting text minimal, letting the font take center stage.

What I loved about using Gibrano for events was how it brought energy to the visuals. It wasn’t just about looking good—it was about feeling right. The texture gave the poster a unique touch, making it more engaging than standard sans-serif options.

Gibrano in Brand Guidelines and Consistency

Finally, I integrated Gibrano into the brand guidelines. It became the go-to font for all primary headings and logos. For secondary text, I used a complementary serif font to maintain hierarchy and balance. This ensured that the brand had a consistent voice across all platforms.

I also recommended that the client consider licensing Gibrano for commercial use if they planned to expand their branding efforts. Since it’s a display font, it’s best suited for short-form text and headlines, but its versatility made it a strong candidate for long-term brand development.

Overall, Gibrano proved to be a valuable addition to the project. It delivered on its promise of being bold, expressive, and easy to read. Whether used in print or digital formats, it consistently enhanced the visual appeal of the brand without compromising clarity or professionalism.
